Students who have successfully completed a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Lakeland University should be able to:

Apply the principles of chemistry, physics, and math to understand chemical systems.
Interpret scientific data.
Develop plans for examining a chemical question.
Communicate scientific findings—orally and in written form.
Prepare for professional networking.
Demonstrate an effective disposition toward scientific learning.

BIO 353 - Cellular Biochemistry
CHM 320 - Advanced Organic Chemistry (4 semester hours)
CHM 323 - Physical Chemistry
CHM 324 - Advanced Inorganic and Environmental Chemistry
CHM 324L - Advanced Inorganic and Environmental Chemistry Lab (1 semester hour)
CHM 343 - Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism
CHM 343L - Biochemistry Lab (1 semester hour)
CHM 452 - Project Leadership (WI) (1 semester hour)
Nine (9) additional biology (BIO) or chemistry (CHM) semester hours numbered 300 or above. At least six (6) semester hours must be from:

Environmental Chemistry Emphasis (33-34 semester hours)

Pharmaceutical Emphasis (28-30 semester hours completed at Lakeland University)

Courses completed at Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy (CUWSOP) (32 semester hours)

Students complete required admission steps to be accepted into the Doctor of Pharmacy program at CUWSOP.
Students must successfully complete the entire first year of the PharmD program.
The pharmacy courses required from year one at CUWSOP transfer back as electives to Lakeland University.
The CUWSOP PharmD coursework then satisfies the remaining requirements to earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry and Biochemistry and an emphasis in Pharmaceutical.

*Teacher Certification

To qualify for Early Adolescence through Adolescence (grades 6-12) teaching certification, a student must complete the courses listed above, the Early Adolescence through Adolescence Professional Sequence , and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI) statutory requirements.
