Participation in any Graduate Certificate program allows students to gain advanced disciplinary training their subject of interest. The program is open to students who an earned bachelor’s degrees.
To Complete a Graduate Certificate:
Students must earn a cumulative 3.0 GPA in order to earn this certificate.
Certificates are awarded from the respective Dean of each Graduate program and do not appear as a credential on Lakeland University transcripts.
Students who have successfully completed a Graduate Certificate program will be able to:
Demonstrate advanced disciplinary knowledge in the appropriate content area.
Apply disciplinary theories and knowledge to new contexts.
The Kodály Certificate Program offers professional development for working educators culminating in a certification in Kodály methodology.
This degree is twenty (20) semester hours and includes three summers with two weeks on campus each summer.
The course includes Kodály Levels I-III. The first summer would include the following courses: Kodály Methods I (includes the First Steps of Music curriculum), Solfege I, Folk Song History and Research I, Choir, and a Special Topics course.
Students usually take six (6) to seven (7) semester hours each summer.
