The curriculum in Chinese, offered by the Humanities Division, is designed to help students acquire basic communication skills in the Chinese language and develop an understanding of Chinese culture. Students with no background in the language begin in the introductory courses, while those with some prior training may start in one of the more advanced classes. Students are advised to speak with the Chinese instructor or the chair of the Humanities Division for information regarding qualifying for advanced standing placement.
