Semester Hours: 2 This class provides students with opportunities to express themselves through musical creation and to learn to do so with greater clarity and effectiveness by honing their compositional skills. Skills are developed by way of participating in varied and carefully-crafted but often open-ended exercises and activities. Additionally, through analysis students discover aesthetic standards and effective strategies for writing in particular genres and forms. Course builds upon skills and theoretical knowledge from MUS 202 - Music Composition 1 (2 semester hours) and MUS 204 - Diatonic Harmony (1 semester hour).
