MUS 202 - Music Composition 1 (2 semester hours)

This class provides students with opportunities to express themselves through musical creation and to learn to do so with greater clarity and effectiveness by honing their compositional skills. Skills are developed by way of participating in varied and carefully-crafted but often open-ended exercises and activities. Feedback of work will consist of instructor written and verbal critique, class evaluation and discussion, and performances of completed works/exercises.

Pre-requisites: MUS 111 - Fundamentals of Music Theory (1 semester hour). Students taking this course are required to be concurrently enrolled in Diatonic Harmony MUS 204.
