CPS 323 - Computer Architecture Semester Hours: 3 Computer architecture is the science and art of selecting and interconnecting hardware components and designing the hardware/software interface to create a computer that meets functional, performance, energy consumption, cost, and other specific goals. This course introduces the basic hardware structure of modern programmable computers from the ground up and focuses on the foundational concepts that are the basis for current computer design. This classic introduction provides a deep look into the computer, will demonstrate how software interacts with hardware, and discusses how trends in technology, applications, and economics drive continuing changes in the field of computer design.
Pre-requisites: CPS 200 - Programming I .
