PSY 381 - Counseling: Methods and Ethics Semester Hours: 3 This course provides the opportunity to study the therapeutic relationship and to learn, practice, and apply the basic skills of interviewing and counseling adult clients. We will explore the foundations of therapeutic goal setting and behavior change. The role of ethics in counseling will be discussed as we study The American Psychological Association Ethics Code and the American Counseling Association Ethics Code, especially the topics relevant to the provision of counseling services, the counselor-client relationship, and the identification and resolution of ethical dilemmas. This course will be a combination of discussion and experiential exercises.
Pre-requisites: PSY 321 - Personality Theories or consent.
