Studio Art, B.A.

Students who have successfully completed a B.A. in Studio Art from Lakeland University should be able to:

  • Competently use a broad range of media and art tools in a variety of art disciplines.
  • Skillfully compose the elements of art including line, shape, value, texture, color and space into an organized and unified whole.
  • Demonstrate a creative and original approach in solving artistic problems.
  • Communicate effectively through visual, verbal and written means.
  • Present their artwork in a professional manner.
  • Consistently practice good working habits including the efficient and disciplined use of time and the meeting of deadlines.

Nine (9) additional semester hours from the following; at least three (3) semester hours must be from Group A:


Cooperative Education Track Information


Note:


  • Students completing a major in Studio Art who are also completing a major in Graphic Design may complete three (3) additional hours of GDN coursework as part of their Group A and Group B requirements. 
  • Additionally if the student is completing the Cooperative Track(s) in both or one of the majors must:
    • Complete a minimum of six (6) hours for each of ART 390 and GDN 390 coursework as part of the Cooperative Education experience requirement.
  • Students completing a major in Studio Art may not earn a minor in Graphic Design.
