WRT 213 - The Mirror: Student-Run Newspaper Semester Hours: 0-1 Up to one semester hour of credit is awarded for successful work as a content creator, which may include news reporting, feature writing, photojournalism, podcasting, and social media production of the The Mirror, Lakeland’s Student-Run Newspaper.
As part of the staff, students have opportunities to learn and gain professional experience in many aspects of modern journalism. Students are also valuable contributors to an important news source for Lakeland University and its surrounding community. The Mirror publication, website and social media outlets will be updated regularly with fresh, original news content.
Pre-requisites: Grade “C” (or above) in GEN 110 - Composition I: Academic Writing (4 semester hours) . It will be important for students to understand the conventions of English grammar and sentence and paragraph structure prior to moving into this professional format.
