FSQ 320 - Food Processing and Preservation Techniques

This course offers a foundational understanding of food processing techniques with a specialized focus on their applications within the cereal, produce, meat, and dairy industries. Students will explore the scientific and technological principles behind processing and preservation methods and their impact on product safety, quality, nutritional value, and regulatory compliance. The course highlights processing’s role in food integrity, shelf-life extension, sustainability, and consumer safety in these key food sectors.

Pre-requisites: FSQ 310 - Meat and Dairy Sciences .
