SPA 203 - Spanish for Heritage & Bilingual Speakers III Semester Hours: 3 Spanish 203 is a continuation of SPA 104 - Spanish for Heritage & Bilingual Speakers II (4 semester hours) . It is a course for native or bilingual Spanish speakers who aim to improve their oral and writing skills, further developing their knowledge of Spanish language and culture. The course serves as a bridge between informal Spanish –often learned at home– and formal spoken and written variations required at school, the workplace, and professional settings. The main goals are to develop proficiency in standard Spanish while developing a greater understanding of the Spanish-speaking countries’ cultures with emphasis on the Hispanic/Latino culture In the United States. The emphasis in this course is on intermediate syntax and text analysis while enhancing writing, reading and comprehension skills.
Pre-requisites: SPA 104 - Spanish for Heritage & Bilingual Speakers II (4 semester hours) or consent. Course conducted mostly in Spanish.
