SPA 104 - Spanish for Heritage & Bilingual Speakers II (4 semester hours) Semester Hours: 4 Spanish 104 is a continuation of SPA 103 - Spanish for Heritage & Bilingual Speakers I (4 semester hours) . It is a course for native or bilingual Spanish speakers who aim to improve their oral and writing skills, further developing their knowledge of Spanish language and culture. The course serves as a bridge between informal Spanish –often learned at home– and formal spoken and written variations required at school, the workplace, and professional settings. The main goals are to develop proficiency in standard Spanish while developing a greater understanding of the Spanish-speaking countries’ cultures with emphasis on the Hispanic/Latino culture in the United States. The emphasis of this course is placed on basic syntax (structure) while reinforcing writing (spelling, accents, punctuation, among others) and reading (comprehension).
Pre-requisites: SPA 103 - Spanish for Heritage & Bilingual Speakers I (4 semester hours) or consent. Course conducted mostly in Spanish.
Offered: Occasionally in Spring.
