MUSE 441 - General Music Teaching Methods and Materials I (2 semester hours)

Semester Hours: 2
This course is designed to provide students with the skills to teach classroom (general) music in grades K-6. Students will learn relevant philosophies of music education, formulate instructional objectives, establish assessment techniques, and create unit and lesson plans. Students will develop beginning teaching skills in the classroom and in short teaching experiences in local schools. State and national standards of music education will be incorporated into the coursework.

Pre-requisites: EDU 100 - Introduction to Education  or MUSE 150 - Introduction to Music Education  and MUSE 320 - Classroom Instruments for General Music Teachers (1 semester hour) .
