PSY 463 - History and Systems of Psychology (WI)Semester Hours: 3 (Writing-Intensive) This senior capstone course is an in-depth exploration of psychology’s philosophical and scientific roots from the time of René Descartes and John Locke in the 17th century to the 20th century “schools” of psychology and their influence on the discipline today. A discussion of present-day trends and challenges facing the discipline of psychology will end the semester. Students will read primary and secondary source materials and write an APA-style research paper on a historical figure in the history of psychology.
Pre-requisites: GEN 112 - Composition II: Argumentation and Research ; limited to Psychology majors of senior standing.
