MUS 206 - Diatonic Harmony

Semester Hours: 3
This course will focus on tonal, diatonic harmony (typically Baroque and Classical period music) in four-part writing using triads and seventh chords; species counterpoint; analysis of musical excerpts related to voice leading, diatonic chord usage, and non-chord tones. This course builds upon skills and theoretical knowledge from MUS 111 - Fundamentals of Music Theory .

Pre-requisites: MUS 111 - Fundamentals of Music Theory .
