SOC 342 - Sociology of Religion

Semester Hours: 3
A seminar analysis of religion as a social and cultural phenomenon. Emphasis on how religion throughout history has been shaped by, and has been a shaper of, other social institutions. Major attention on religion’s changing role and shape in modern life.

Pre-requisites: SOC 100 - Introduction to Sociology , REL 232 - Eastern Religious Traditions , REL 233 - Western Religious Traditions , or consent.
