Chemistry and Biochemistry, B.S.


Students who have successfully completed a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Lakeland University should be able to:

  • Apply the principles of chemistry, physics, and math to understand chemical systems.
  • Interpreting scientific data.
  • Develop plans for examining a chemical question.
  • Communicate scientific findings- orally and in written form.
  • Prepare for professional networking.
  • Demonstrate an effective disposition toward scientific learning.

And the completion of one of the following emphases:


Eight (8) semester hours from:

  • Chemistry (CHM) or Biology (BIO) courses numbered 280 or above (not including BIO 390/400 or CHM 390/400).
Twelve (12) semester hours of:

  • Twelve additional Biology (BIO) or Chemistry (CHM) semester hours numbered 280 or above. 
Courses completed at Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy (CUWSOP) (32 semester hours)

  • Students complete the required admission steps to be accepted into the Doctor of Pharmacy program at CUWSOP.
  • Students must successfully complete the entire first year of the PharmD program.
  • The pharmacy courses required from year one at CUWSOP transfer back as electives to Lakeland University.
  • The CUWSOP PharmD coursework then satisfies the remaining requirements to earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry and Biochemistry and an emphasis in Pharmaceutical.
