Students who have successfully completed a minor in History from Lakeland University should be able to:
- Demonstrate a knowledge of history and the people, places, ideas, and major events that shaped it.
- Construct evidence-based arguments using a variety of historical sources.
- Communicate ideas clearly and professionally in both written and oral form.

Minor Requirements (24 semester hours)
For Education* and Non-education Minors Notes:
# It is recommended that education students select either HIS 101 - World History I or HIS 311 - Ancient World in order to ensure adequate preparation for the state-mandated content exam in history. * To qualify for Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence (grades 1-8) teaching certification in history, a student must complete the courses listed above, the Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence Education Major/Professional Sequence and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI) statutory requirements. |
