Management Information Systems, B.A.

Students who have successfully completed a B.A. in Management Information Systems from Lakeland University should be able to:

Explain the major concepts in the functional areas of accounting, economics, marketing, finance, management, and leadership.
Construct and present effective oral and written forms of professional communication.
Identify the key legal and ethical issues related to contemporary business conduct.
Demonstrate responsible and effective workplace behavior skills and traits in a professional business environment.
Demonstrate the ability to develop a computer program using contemporary programming languages.
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively individually and in teams, in designing and implementing software systems and effectively manage conflicts, optimize resources and meet deadlines.

Major Requirements (56 semester hours)

A student completing a major in Management Information Systems is not eligible to earn a major or minor in Computer Science.
A student completing a major in Management Information Systems is not eligible to earn a minor in Business Administration.
Students completing a major in Management Information Systems have the option of pursuing an emphasis to supplement their major coursework.

- Students must complete all prerequisites to be eligible to enroll in coursework of those emphasis areas.
