Students who have successfully completed an A.S. from Lakeland University should be able to:
- Identify, explain and apply core principles in biology and chemistry.
- Perform mathematical and statistical functions appropriate to the sciences.
- Demonstrate knowledge of multiple academic disciplines.
- Communicate effectively in speech and writing.
- Evaluate different types of information.
- Examine problem(s) from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
- Make decisions in an evidence-based fashion.

Degree Requirements (60 semester hours)
Fundamental Skills
A maximum 3 semester hours may be used towards degree total.
Rhetorical and Critical Thinking Skills
Distributional Studies
Complete 21 semester hours of coursework with 12 of these semester hours fulfilling at least four of the following six categories. Although listed course prerequisites still apply, all courses with the parenthetical program designations are acceptable unless specifically excluded below:
- Art, Music, Theatre (ART, GDN, MUS, THE)
- History and Political Science (HIS, POL)
- Literature and Writing (ENG, WRT) - (Excluded courses: ENG 230; WRT 211; WRT 212)
- Philosophy and Religion (PHI, REL)
- Social Sciences (ANT, CRJ, DVS, ECN, PSY, SOC) - (Excluded course: SOC 335/PSY 335)
- World Languages (CHI, GER, JPS, SPA)
