If you want to teach English, it’s not enough to know English. It is for this reason that Lakeland offers two programs:

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at the Lakeland University Japan campus OR

Teaching English as a Foreign Language/non-certifiable (EFL) on the Lakeland University Home campus

• These programs, enable students to learn curriculum in basic applied linguistics, as well as teaching methods, and shows aspiring teachers how to address the unique language issues faced by English language learners. Students in these programs will explore the cultural issues faced by English language learners when they negotiate the English-speaking world, both in and out of school.
