Schools ask a great deal from their social studies teachers, especially at the secondary level. Often, these instructors need to be experts in ​a wide variety of disciplines. Lakeland’s social studies program prepares future teachers to succeed in a wide variety of classroom settings. Designed to be versatile and marketable, the social studies program allows students to concentrate in history yet provides a diverse set of experiences from all areas of the social sciences.
