Master of Music in Music Education–Kodály Emphasis

The Master of Music in Music Education (Kodály Emphasis) offers a pathway for working music educators to gain a graduate degree while also earning a certification in Kodály methodology. This degree is 34 semester hours and includes four summers with two weeks on campus each summer. Students earn a Kodály certificate as part of this program (Levels I-III). The first summer would include the following courses: Kodály Methods I (includes the First Steps of Music curriculum), Solfege I, Folk Song History and Research I, Choir, and a Special Topics course. Students usually take 7-9 semester hours each summer.
