CPS 422 - Project Design Lab S Semester Hours: 3 This course will center on student research that will explore the relationships between humans and humanoid robots using small computers and machines that were not specifically designed for human-computer interaction, such as small, single-board computers. This lab-based course provides an overview and introduction to the field of human-computer interaction, with an emphasis on humanoids and other robots. It introduces students to tools, techniques, and sources of information about HCI and provides a systematic approach to design. Students will learn the fundamental concepts of human-computer interaction and user centered design thinking, through working in teams on an interaction design project, supported by lectures, readings, and discussions. Students will practice HCI techniques in an independent, self-defined project.
Pre-requisites: CPS 200 – Programming I, two additional Computer Science (CPS/DAT/CYS) courses, or consent.
Offered: Occasionally in Spring
