SOC 351 - Sociology of Family Semester Hours: 3 Using the critical lens of a sociological perspective, incorporates a broad historical, economic, and cross-cultural focus. Relevant topics include changing gender roles and family power, child rearing practices, family violence, divorce, and the viability of alternate family forms as they affect the physical and mental health of their members.
Pre-requisites: SOC 100 - Introduction to Sociology or PSY 200 - General Psychology .
