ESL 330 - Teaching Practicum and Professional Practice

Semester Hours: 3
Through this course, students will apply what they have learned and are learning about the English language, second language acquisition, and teaching methods in the classroom in  ESL 321/721 - English Grammar , ESL 322/722 - Second Language Acquisition and Applied Linguistics , and  ESL 323 - ESL Teaching Methods, Materials, and Contexts . Students will teach classes of ESL learners and observe their classmates teach ESL classes. Through practice, observation and reflection these ESL teachers-in-training will begin to develop a vision and philosophy of themselves as teachers. There will also be time dedicated to investigation of the worldwide ESL job market and the process of searching for and applying to available jobs.

Pre-requisites: ESL 322/722 - Second Language Acquisition and Applied Linguistics  or consent.

Pre- or co-requisites: ESL 323 - ESL Teaching Methods, Materials, and Contexts .
