MUS 121 - World Music Traditions

Semester Hours: 3
This is a survey course in which music is studied within the context of culture. This will involve studying music from a global perspective, exploring music both as a phenomenon of sound and a phenomenon of culture. Students will examine representative examples of music in the Western and non-Western world and develop a vocabulary and deeper understanding to discuss the musical and social aspects of each culture.
