BUS 343 - Science and Business: Grand Challenges to Sustainability Semester Hours: 3 This course examines the interface between natural systems and business enterprises. Students will examine sustainability strategies in the context of running a modern business from local, regional and international scales. Basic management functions such as planning, organizing, leading and their relationship to organizational resource use will be analyzed through the lens of sustainability. Empirical case studies and current business practices are utilized to highlight sustainable enterprises and to produce a detailed sustainability proposal for businesses operating in a linear fashion in terms of resource use.
Pre-requisites: BIO 245 - Gateway to Sustainability .
