CHM 150 - Beer: The Science and Story Behind Fermentation Semester Hours: 3 Students will explore the fermentation process through laboratory projects, analysis of literary and professional works, and expeditions and tastings at local and global breweries with a study abroad experience. Students will be required to closely scrutinize the use of biotechnology in brewing. Students will document this process and sensory experience through multiple forms of writing to recognize and appreciate the science and story behind beer. This on campus/travel course runs in both the spring semester with an embedded laboratory portion and in May with a travel portion.
Pre-requisites: GEN 112 - Composition II: Argumentation and Research .
Offered: occasionally in Spring.
