BI 550 - BioinformaticsSemester Hours: 3 This advanced course at the interface of biology and chemistry will utilize a variety of online tools to analyze DNA, RNA, and protein sequence information. Topics will include gene identification and annotation, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), RNA splicing and alternative splicing, and predictions of protein structure and function. The overarching goal of the course is to better understand the genetic basis of disease.
Pre-requisites: a completed bachelor’s degree and accepted for enrollment through CADS.
