NUR 303 - Research and Evidence-Based Practice in NursingSemester Hours: 3 This course fosters a deep understanding of the principles and practice of research and the importance of building nursing practice on evidence. Students will review research methodologies and then systematically collect, interpret, and report data all while considering patient preferences and values. Nurses must be competent and capable of investigating and evaluating data to adopt, teach and evaluate evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes, and provide safe, quality health care to patients, communities, and populations. The ever-changing healthcare environment requires an accelerated transition of research findings into practice and the use of practice data to improve care and outcomes.
Pre- or co-requisites: MAT 220 - Probability and Statistics and NUR 301 - Professional Nursing Practice . Required admittance to the Lakeland University RN to BSN Completion Program.
