SOC 220 - Social Psychology Semester Hours: 3 A lecture-discussion course addressing the question of why humans behave as they do. Reviews biological, psychological, and sociological theories about the causes and effects of human behavior; presents an interdisciplinary picture of the genetically determined and socially acquired influences on personal behavior. The course addresses individual and group tendencies as they relate to a series of distinctive behaviors, such as aggression, altruism, attitudes, attraction, communication, conformity, group interaction, and prejudice.
Pre-requisites: PSY 200 - General Psychology or SOC 100 - Introduction to Sociology .
