GEN 130 - Core I: Foundations of Critical Thinking Semester Hours: 3 The first level of the Critical Thinking Core introduces students to the intellectual and practical skills and resources they need in order to pursue a higher education. To this end, the course provides students with a foundation of critical thinking skills that encourages both questioning and open-mindedness, improves the ability to monitor one’s own thinking, and develops the techniques to approach new ideas and problems critically and with a sense of curiosity.
