CHM 423 - Advanced Physical Chemistry

Semester Hours: 3
This course will cover the fundamentals of thermodynamics, chemical kinetics and quantum mechanics using both chemical and biochemical examples. Topics covered in this course will include the mathematical underpinnings of atomic and molecular structure and the energy available in the system as it impacts spectroscopy, chemical kinetics and equilibrium. Examples will be both chemical and biochemical.

Pre-requisites: CHM 132 - Principles of Chemistry II (4 semester hours) , MAT 242 - Calculus II (4 semester hours)  and PHY 222 - General Physics II (4 semester hours) .
