Associate Level Degree Requirements
|
|
To complete the requirements for any associate degree at Lakeland University, each student must:
- Complete the degree requirements listed in the Associate Degree Programs section of this catalog, including the following:
- Demonstrating college-level proficiency in each of the required College Skills areas: reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Completing Distributional Studies requirements in Rhetorical Skills, Quantitative Skills, and distributional studies areas described in each degree requirements.
- Participating in the Critical Thinking Core with completion of Core I or Introduction to Honors.
- Completing all additional coursework (whether specified or elective) described in the Curriculum section of this catalog.
- Complete at least 60 semester hours of college credit, of which no more than three (3) semester hours may be from GEN 100 - College Writing Workshop, GEN 101 - Reading Workshop, or their equivalents.
- Earn a minimum of fifteen (15) semester hours of college credit through Lakeland University.
- Of the last fifteen (15) semester hours credited toward the degree, twelve (12) semester hours must be earned through Lakeland University.
- Maintain a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 2.0 in the Lakeland associate degree curriculum, and at least 2.0 in all coursework taken through Lakeland University.
Note:
- Students are not eligible to complete an associate degree of the same distinction (Arts or Science) if previously earned at Lakeland University or other institutions.
- Students pursuing a second associate degree of differing distinction (Arts or Science) may have limited eligibility for financial aid assistance. It is recommended that a student review their intent with the Financial Aid and Educational Funding Office before declaring intent to pursue a second associate-level degree.
