Lakeland University’s Refund Policy
- Eligibility for a refund is contingent upon official withdrawal/dropping of courses prior to the published drop date each semester.
- Students who fully withdraw from the University or drop a course(s) prior to the published Drop dates for their chosen course type (14W, 12W, 7W1, and 7W2) may receive a refund of up to 100%.
- No refund will be issued for students withdrawing from classes after the drop date.
- For withdrawal and refund purposes, telephone or verbal notice of withdrawal is not adequate.
- The official date of withdrawal will be established only by the receipt of formal written notice or a completed student withdrawal form.
- Students who do not pay their tuition in full prior to a semester and subsequently withdraw after the add/drop date will likely have a balance due, not a refund.
- University Housing agreements are binding for the entire academic year or portion thereof.
- Failure to complete the agreement for any reason, including suspension or dismissal from the university or residence hall, may result in forfeiture of all room and board fees.
- No refunds for room rent will be granted for students who withdraw after the end of the first week of classes.
- One week of room and board expenses will be deducted from the refund for those who drop before the beginning of the second week of classes.
- Students who move off campus prior to the contract end date will be charged a $100 contract breakage fee and remain responsible for the full cost of their housing and/or meal plan.
- No refunds will be made for missed meals or for temporary absence from the hall.
- Students suspended or asked to withdraw for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for refunds, regardless of the withdrawal date.
Tuition & Fees Dispute
- Students who believe they have grounds to appeal their bill and/or payment of expenses owed to Lakeland University due to a university error, transfer to another university, or extreme special circumstance may submit a Tuition and Fees Appeal to the Bursar’s Office.
- This form and further details can be found in the Student Accounts section of my.lakeland.edu.
- Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a refund nor exempt the student from late fees or financial holds resulting from the charges in dispute.
