General student expenses fall into five broad categories: tuition and fees, books and supplies, housing and meals, personal expenses, and transportation. Direct costs of attendance, such as tuition and fees, are billed by the university. Indirect costs, such as books, supplies, housing, meals, personal expenses, and transportation do not typically appear on the university billing statement. The direct and indirect costs of attendance should be included when the student is budgeting for his/her attendance.
Tuition and Fees
The payment of tuition helps to cover the costs for facilities, instructional and non-instructional salaries, equipment, and other services associated with Lakeland’s Kellett program. Lakeland University charges for courses in the Kellett Program on a per-credit basis. In addition, some courses may have special fees. Course fees are refundable prior to the first day of class.
The application fee for the Kellett School undergraduate program is $35. The application fee for entry into a graduate studies program is $50. In both cases, these one-time fees are non-refundable.
Books and Supplies
Kellett students should expect to pay approximately $150 per course for essential textbooks and supplies (course materials). The Follett Virtual Store sells books, supplies, and offers textbook rental (dependent upon course). Please note that textbooks and supplies are above and beyond tuition and fee rates. Students with excess financial aid may be able to use all or a portion of their excess aid to purchase textbooks via Lakeland’s “book voucher” program.
Housing and Meals
In most cases, Kellett students do not live in Lakeland University campus housing; therefore, Kellett students will calculate their housing and meal expenses as is pertinent to their own individual situations.
Personal Expenses
The costs for personal expenses, such as supplies and cell phone usage, vary widely from student to student.
Transportation
Transportation costs are the costs associated with traveling to and from school.
