Sample Four-Year Plan of Study 2019-2020
The following are sample plans of course requirements to complete the Sport Management and Leadership major in four years.
- Each student’s experience will vary slightly, as this plan does not include transfer work or credit for prior learning (such as Advanced Placement-AP).
- Math, English, and Reading placement is based on the student’s ACT/SAT scores or placement tests.
- If fundamental courses are required, they should be taken within the first year.

Sport Management and Leadership Major with an Athletic Administration Emphasis

Sport Management and Leadership Major with an Athletic Coaching Emphasis

Sport Management and Leadership Major with a Communication Emphasis

Sport Management and Leadership Major with a Cooperative Education Emphasis

Sport Management and Leadership Major with a Hospitality Management, Nonprofit Management, Sales Management, or Student Designed Emphasis

Student Designed - Students may propose a twelve (12) semester-hour emphasis in an area of academic interest that complements their major in the J. Garland Schilcutt School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Students may fulfill the emphasis requirement by completing current courses offered by the J. Garland Schilcutt School of Business and Entrepreneurship, courses offered in other Schools or internship experiences that are relevant to the area of interest. This emphasis plan must be approved in advance by the student’s academic advisor and the Dean of the J. Garland Schilcutt School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Cooperative Education courses may not be used to satisfy the requirements of this emphasis.
Sport Management and Leadership Major with a Retail Management Emphasis
